Alison Chwalibog, FNP

For more than 10 years, Alison Chwalibog worked in the hectic and busy world of emergency medicine, caring for patients in crisis, leading trauma responses, and mentoring new nurses. Through it all, she couldn’t help but think of what it would be like to help patients before they ended up at the emergency department.

So, she returned to school to become a family nurse practitioner, and she is now bringing her experience to Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Thompson Bridge.

Alison earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Wilmington University in Wilmington, Delaware, and went on to earn her master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Kentucky. She began her nursing career in Maryland, working at an orthopedic rehabilitation hospital in Baltimore and then at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s emergency department in Annapolis. After moving to Georgia, Alison joined Northeast Georgia Health System, where she worked in the emergency department for six years and later worked in the post-anesthesia care unit.

During her nurse practitioner training, Alison completed more than 400 clinical hours alongside the nurse practitioners at NGPG Thompson Bridge.

Outside of work, Alison stays busy as a single mom to two young daughters. When she’s not at a soccer game or ballet recital, she enjoys working out, doing yoga, making floral arrangements, cooking creative meals, decorating for holidays, and spending time with her rescue dogs and cats.
