Crystal Toombs is a mental health provider who believes in empowering, motivating, and encouraging her clients to overcome life’s challenges and find lasting wellness. She brings more than a decade of experience working with young adults, adults, and teen parents, helping them navigate life’s transitions, manage difficult emotions, and build the tools they need for sustained healing.
Crystal works to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and equipped for growth. She incorporates a variety of evidence-based and faith-based therapies tailored to each person’s unique needs, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), brainspotting, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, compassion-focused therapy, and Christian counseling. When appropriate, she also offers life coaching, couples therapy, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
Crystal has a special interest in supporting individuals through challenges like anxiety, grief, infertility, family conflict, life transitions, and self-esteem issues. She also works with clients facing adoption-related concerns, anger management, career challenges, eating disorders, and the unique stressors that come with aging. In addition, she provides care for women’s issues, learning disabilities, and job or cultural stress, helping each person identify areas of dissatisfaction in their life and develop meaningful steps toward growth and healing.
Crystal earned her PhD in Education Leadership from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, with a concentration in higher education and a dissertation focused on nontraditional students’ experiences managing life transitions. She also holds a Master of Education in Counseling from Kent State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Wilberforce University, and a diploma in Christian Leadership from Alphacrusic College in Auckland, New Zealand.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Human Services Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP), and a certified Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner.
Outside of her work, Crystal enjoys staying connected to her faith and community. She values time spent in prayer, personal reflection, and supporting others in their unique journeys toward wholeness
