Julia Mattingly, MD

Growing up, Dr. Mattingly shared a close bond with her oldest sister who has Down syndrome, autism and is non-verbal. That connection helped her realize her knack for being in tune with the needs of those around her, eventually leading her to pursue a career in medicine and now, she's joined NGPG Dahlonega.

Dr. Mattingly earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and went on to earn her medical degree from Mercer University. She then completed her family medicine residency at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital, where she earned the Resident of the Year Award.

Although Dr. Mattingly was born in Massachusetts and grew up in Connecticut, her family moved to Suwanee, Georgia, when she was 12, and she's called Georgia home ever since.

Outside of work, Dr. Mattingly enjoys spending time with family. In addition to her oldest sister, she also has a twin sister and older brother. Dr. Mattingly recently married her husband, and they spend time traveling, swimming, reading and cooking.
