Naqeeb Faroqui, MD

Naqeeb Faroqui, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained foregut surgeon with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. He specializes in treating heartburn, acid reflux, hiatal hernias, swallowing disorders, and other conditions affecting the esophagus and stomach, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), achalasia, and gastroparesis.

His expertise includes minimally invasive and robotic surgery, advanced endoscopy, hiatal and paraesophageal hernia repair, reflux treatment, and procedures for swallowing and stomach-emptying disorders. He also performs general surgical procedures, including gallbladder and hernia surgery.

Dr. Faroqui earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. He then completed advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Foregut Surgery at the Esophageal Institute at Allegheny Health in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. Faroqui is honored to care for patients in the community he calls home. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants with his wife, cheering on Atlanta sports teams and the Georgia Bulldogs, and watching his daughter reach new milestones.
