Shravya Khambhati, DO

When her youngest son was born with complex congenital heart disease, Dr. Shravya Khambhati had to change the way her mind was wired to think – from doctor to parent. It was an experience that changed the way she helps her patients, and now she's bringing that new level of understanding to Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Flowery Branch to provide primary care.

Dr. Khambhati grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and earned her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before completing her family medicine residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. She went on to complete a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Boston Medical Center, a specialty she said grew out of growing up in a multi-generational household.

She's lived and practiced in the New England and Chicago area since her residency training, so coming to north Georgia feels a bit like coming home for her family. Dr. Khambhati and her husband, Jay, an interventional cardiologist with Georgia Heart Institute, have three young children. Outside of work, they enjoy traveling, spending time together with friends, and being outdoors.
